BRUNSWICK — Police said Thursday they are trying to identify a man wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred earlier this week at the Verizon store, 3362 Center Road.

At 4:45 p.m. Monday, a suspect described by witnesses as a light-skinned, possibly African-American or Hispanic, man with facial hair and in his 20s allegedly stole an iPhone valued at almost $900, according to a police news release.

The release stated the male fled the scene in a “black, smaller model vehicle,” possibly a Dodge Neon or Ford Escort, with a loud exhaust.

Brunswick Lt. Robert Safran said an employee suffered minor injuries after reaching into the vehicle in attempt to stop the suspect from driving away. The employee suffered a laceration to his wrist and a knee injury from being dragged by the vehicle.

Safran said the employee was transported to Cleveland Clinic in Brunswick and was later released.
