Dr. Michael Van Amburgh
On February 9, 2017, Dr. Michael Van Amburgh was recognized with the "Stephen H. Weiss Presidential Fellowship" award for excellent teaching of undergraduate students at Cornell University.
Mike was cited for his passionate, engaging and interactive animal science lectures, for his concern for students and his willingness to meet with incoming students and their families.
Mike has guided hundreds of students to Europe as advisor of the Dairy Science club, and has helped many of them to pursue internships, careers and study abroad.
Interim President of Cornell, Hunter Rawlings, said that Mike is truly legen-dairy!
Mike's wife, Elisa, and daughters Emma and Anna attended the ceremony. His parents, Ron and Joyce of Grafton, his siblings, Barbara Farrar and family of Wellington and Dan and family of Michigan are very proud of his accomplishments.
