Allan J. Robinson, 94, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016. He was born June 25, 1922 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was the sixth child of seven born to the late John and Ida Robinson.
Allan served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943-1945 during WWII. He was a Captain with the 8th Airborne and he flew B-17's in 35 missions over Germany and was awarded an Air Metal Silver Oak Leaf Cluster. After the war, he worked as an Aeronautical Engineer with Goodyear Areospace and Goodyear Motor Wheel Earthmover Division until his retirement.
In his spare time, he was Seville Presbyterian Church Elder, he sang with the Akron Symphony Choir and the Summit Masterworks Choral Group. Allan enjoyed traveling with his wife, Joanne, bird watching, photographing wildflowers, fishing, hiking, gardening and classical music.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Clair; sister, Violet Alborn and daughter, Diana Peske.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Joanne; brother, Ralph (Nora); sisters, Martha Shannon and Nancy Cornman; grandchildren, Kevin Peske (Virginia) and Brandon Peske (Lana); great-grandchildren, Alicia Peske, Jennifer Peske, Kaitlyn Peske-Coleman (Zack) and Ryen Peske; step-grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held, Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 12 Noon at Seville Presbyterian Church, 101 Center Street, Seville, with Pastor Marc van Bulck officiating. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 5 to 7 P.M., at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High Street, Wadsworth. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery, Seville, with full Military Honors.
Memorial contributions may be made in Allan's name to Seville Presbyterian Church Music Patrons or Summa Hospice.
